This Mr Sparrow is a fine art giclée print of my graphite on paper artwork.
I love the Sparrow whanau that live, love, feed, and breed in my garden.
Sparrow live in lively groups and are the most widespread urban bird in the world. They were introduced to Aotearoa/NZ in the 1860s to help control pests in crops. Unfortunately, they became the pest as they eat more seeds than insects.
In some parts of the world, the sparrow is rapidly heading toward the endangered list due to poor diet and pesticides.
My graphite artwork depicts a Mr Sparrow in fine detail showing off his dark “bib” which indicates he is the “boss”.
This is an A4 (21 cm x 29.5 cm) size fine art giclée print on German etching paper. It can fit an A4 frame or an 8 x 10 (20 cm x 25.5 cm) frame.

My artwork is created in response to the NZ wildlife, birds and critters, that surround my life and studio on Hinewai Reserve. I am inspired by natures resilience and the critters who live and breed here. I create to protect our critters one artwork at a time.
