What’s on the Drawing Board -Sept 2019

I have a drawing of the kawakawa caterpillar and moth on the go at the moment…

Drawing of kawakawa caterpillar & moth in progress

I enjoy seeing these and other little critters around our valley.
Did you know kawakawa is edible? It has a peppery flavour and can be used as a tea or added to dishes giving them a slightly spicy tang.
I was told as a youngster that when taking the leaves of the kawakawa we should take the ones that the kawakawa caterpillar has nibble as they have more goodness in them. I have no idea if this is true, but it seems to be common knowledge among those who use these leaves.

If you would like to see this artwork when it is finished, contact me and I will send you a scan.

What critters would you like to see drawn?
Send me a message via the contact page and let me know.

Thanks for taking a look at my Blog.
