This Kākāpō is a fine art print of my graphite and watercolour on paper.
Kākāpō means night parrot.
One of the world’s rarest birds, the Kākāpō is also the heaviest parrot. It is nocturnal and flightless. The male’s boom, used to attract females, is believed to carry further than the call of any other bird in the world.
There are approximately 250 Kakapo in the world. That’s all! An amazing team of folk are working to bring these critters back from the brink of extinction.
I have had the pleasure of meeting a live kakapo, not something too many can claim – yet.
This is an A4 (21 cm x 29.5 cm) size fine art giclée print on German etching paper. It can fit an A4 frame or an 8 x 10 (20 cm x 25.5 cm) frame.

My artwork is created in response to the NZ wildlife, birds and critters, that surround my life and studio on Hinewai Reserve. I am inspired by natures resilience and the critters who live and breed here. I create to protect our critters one artwork at a time.
